T.R. Potter is a photographer living in the northern Puget Sound area of Washington State.
He was born and raised in the great lakes area in a heavily wooded community. The outdoors and nature have always been a primary source of interest to him, whether it be an all–day hike through the woods or an afternoon just sitting on the riverbank under the railroad trestle lazily enjoying the wildlife.
After high school Thomas joined the military and found the natural beauty of Northern California via weekend helicopter flights with the Reserve unit on the base where he was stationed. These training flights were where he first began taking pictures of the scenic and isolated areas of the north fork of the Sacramento River, and is what first sparked the interest in photography.
Thomas' unique eye for beauty from the simplest to the most complex scenes are what sets his photos apart from others. He focuses mainly on seascapes, forestscapes and mountainscapes, but also touches on rural life and American heritage.
Thomas' wife and two daughters now live in the northwestern corner of the State of Washington within eyesight of both the Puget Sound and Mount Baker. A true heaven on earth for a nature lover.
